Transporting our Taranaki community
The Te Matatini biennial Festival is the largest kapa haka festival in the world, being a celebration of traditional Māori performing arts excellence.
Held this year in New Plymouth, our Tranzit Coachlines Taranaki team scaled up to provide transport services to the event held at Pukekura Park’s Bowl of Brooklands.
This involved doing more than seven charters and daily shuttle buses for performers as well as providing services to and from the event for members of the public in our fleet or urban buses. The feedback our driving team received from passengers was overwhelmingly positive with plenty of ‘thanks driver” comments and conversely they enjoyed listening to many teams warming up in the bus.
This year, Te Matatini brought together 55 haka groups from around Aotearoa and was described as the “Olympics” of Kapa Haka.
