We are committed to decarbonising our bus fleet and investing in charging infrastructure to support our growing fleet of electric buses. After introducing the first battery powered electric bus into New Zealand in 2018 and the first electric bus into regional New Zealand in 2021, we now operate a growing fleet of electric buses in cities and towns in the North Island of New Zealand in partnership with Horizons Regional Council, Taranaki Regional Council and Waikato Regional Council.

Did you know?
Tranzit partnered with Horizons Regional Council to introduce New Zealand’s first 100% electric fleet into Palmerston North and Ashhurst’s new and expanded bus network. Then, in 2026 we introduced electric buses into nearby Feilding improving the passenger experience. Collectively, our fleet in Manawatu will help reduce carbon emission and provide a quieter, smoother and superior service for passengers.
