What does INBOUND and OUTBOUND mean?
If you think of the school as the focal point, you travel OUT from school or IN to school. So, the OUTBOUND bus travels home, and the INBOUND bus goes back to school.
What days do the service run?
OUTBOUND buses go home Friday after school.
INBOUND buses travel back to school Sunday afternoon.
What happens on a long weekend or EXEAT/mid-term break?
OUTBOUND buses travel on the last day of school, eg Thursday if school is closed Friday.
INBOUND buses travel on the last day before school, eg Monday if school is closed Monday.
What if the Boarding Schools have different days off?
Tranzit’s team works hard to ensure the services travelled suit the majority of schools, and every effort is made to provide a bus if at least two schools travel on the same day (subject to our minimum 20pax to go ahead).
Do the buses run every week?
They run every school week except:
- NOT on the weekend prior to the start of term and
- NOT on the last day of term

Can the students take food and drink onto the bus?
Students can only take water bottles. There is to be no food or fizzy drinks consumed onboard (due to very messy buses in the past).
What about bags?
Students can stow x1 large bag each in the underneath storage. They can only take their devices, books and water bottles onboard. (Due to very messy buses in the past).
Can a student bring their bike?
No.
As a caregiver, can I turn up on a Sunday Inbound service without having booked?
Yes, but you must wait with your student until the bus comes in case there is not any room for them to travel. Buses can be full. If your student can be accommodated, then $10 is added to the normal price for a late walk-up fare. We ask you to leave your details with the driver and we will send you a payment link the following day.
What does “Late Bookings” mean?
A ‘Late Booking’ is when you text through after 1:00pm on a Thursday.
Late bookings close 9:00am Friday when passenger lists are made up.
There is a Late booking fee of $5 that is added to the regular fare.
What happens if a bus sells out?
We advise you to book early. If an extra bus is required, there must be an additional 20 students to make this viable. Experience shows us there is very rarely the demand.
