Important announcement: March 23, 2020
The health, safety and wellbeing of all of our Tranzit family and passengers is our utmost priority. On Saturday 21 March, our Prime Minister introduced a four level alert system that specifies public health and social measures needed to be taken during these uncertain times. The announcement included specific advice for those deemed to be high risk to stay at home. High risk includes anyone over 70, or who has a compromised immune system or underlying health conditions. We have therefore asked that all our team members who are considered high risk to remain at home. What this means is that some of our school bus routes across the country will be impacted over the following days and until further notice. All schools have been advised of these changes.
Any cancelled or changed school bus services can be found here https://tranzit.co.nz/covid-19-school-bus-update-march-2020
Tranzit is proud to work closely with the Ministry of Education by transporting thousands of Kiwi kids to school every day. We don’t just stop at daily classes, though. Schools regularly use Tranzit buses and coaches to help transport children to and from school trips and camps, sporting events, and end-of-year functions. To book a Tranzit vehicle for your next school trip, contact us for a free quote.
New Zealand’s school transport policy is outlined on the Ministry of Education fact sheets, which are designed to give parents and caregivers more information about getting their kids to and from school. You’ll find these fact sheets on the Ministry of Education website.
Please note: all school bus routes and policy for school transport eligibility are set by the Ministry of Education, not Tranzit. For more information about bus routes or eligibility for your area, contact your local depot manager.

Over the past year we have had an increase in demand for passenger numbers travelling from Eltham, Stratford, Inglewood and Egmont Village to New Plymouth Intermediate and Secondary Schools and also from Bell Block, Waitara and Lepperton to Inglewood Primary and Secondary Schools. To enable us to provide enough transport to cover demands we have asked for all passengers to register their interest for the 2020 school year.
