School Bus Services

Straight to the School Door

January 2022

Welcome back to the 2022 school year – important changes to note below:

Our Tranzit team is looking forward to transporting students to and from school beginning from next week.

From Friday, 4 February 2022, all students on school and public transport who are aged 8 years and over and/or in Year 4 and over, must wear a face covering in the Red and Orange traffic light settings.

This includes SESTA, daily, technology, direct resourced and Maori Medium school transport service and also includes charter buses hired by schools to transport students and staff.

Students in Year 3 and below are not required to wear masks on school transport, although mask wearing is encouraged at all ages.

Also new in 2022 is the roll out of new MOE school bus contracts nationwide. This means Tranzit is now delivering school bus services in new areas and not in other areas.

Please note: all school bus routes and policy for school transport eligibility are set by the Ministry of Education, not Tranzit. For more information about bus routes or eligibility for your area, or if you have any queries relating to MOE school bus timetables or pick-up/drop-off locations, please contact your school in the first instance

Tranzit is proud to work closely with the Ministry of Education by transporting thousands of Kiwi kids to school every day. We don’t just stop at daily classes, though. Schools regularly use Tranzit buses and coaches to help transport children to and from school trips and camps, sporting events, and end-of-year functions. To book a Tranzit vehicle for your next school trip, contact us for a free quote.  All Tranzit Ministry of Education school bus services are fully compliant with the Covid-19 vaccine mandate.

New Zealand’s school transport policy is outlined on the Ministry of Education fact sheets, which are designed to give parents and caregivers more information about getting their kids to and from school. You’ll find these fact sheets on the Ministry of Education website.

Thank you so much for great drivers and buses for our trip to the Coromandel. We all thoroughly enjoyed the drivers company and would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to take kids on a school trip. MANUKORIHI INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL
