We would love to help – contact us and we’ll see what we can do.

We want to cross the Cook Strait on the Ferry, can the bus go on the ferry?

Absolutely! Contact us today to discuss your options. Please note, there will be an additional cost for this service.

What are the regulations with seatbelts on buses?

Tranzit Coachlines drivers are legally required to advise all passengers that seatbelts, where fitted, are required to be worn. However, the driver is under no legal obligation to ensure passengers actually wear their seatbelts. We encourage all passengers to do so, however it’s up to individuals if they do or not.

If we want to hire a bus and require an overnight stay, do we have to pay for the drivers accommodation and food?

As per our Terms & Conditions:

2.1 Where an itinerary requires an overnight stay, all meals and accommodation will be covered by Tranzit and incorporated into the quote, unless otherwise agreed.

2.2 Where accommodation is supplied by the ‘Customer’ it must meet minimum standard levels being a single motel/hotel room with its own toilet and shower facility. Tranzit Coachlines does not permit their Drivers to share a room with Tour/Charter Leaders or ‘Passengers’.

2.3 Meals must be of an acceptable standard.

How long can the driver be on duty for before a break is needed?

The New Zealand Transport Agency requires Tranzit Coachlines drivers to comply with legal hours of duty. Please see our Terms & Conditions for further information.

Will the driver wait with us when we book a return transfer?

He can do if requested. Contact us or request a quote  to find out more.

What is the deal with drinking alcohol on the bus?

As per our Terms & Conditions:

5. Consumption of Alcohol/ Food

5.1 Under Section 38 of the Summary Offences Act 1981, it is an offence to consume alcohol while on board a Tranzit Coachlines vehicle.

5.2 If the ‘Group’ wishes to carry alcohol to their destination, it must be stored in the separate luggage compartment; it must not be carried inside the vehicle with the ‘Passengers’.

5.3 If the ‘Group’ wishes to consume alcohol on board, the ‘Contact Person’ must apply for a ‘Special License’ through their Local Council. A copy of this license must be carried on board the chartered vehicle and our separate alcohol policy must be signed by the ‘Group’.

Both drivers, Bruce and Mark, were again outstanding in their work for Tranzit. You can be proud of the way in which these men behave and represent your company. They are always welcome to be a part of our teams! TARANAKI RUGBY LEAGUE
